What I do

Digital nomad, industrial-grade C++ craftsman and code artist, Software Engineering Director, open-source contributor.

I thrive in small teams of 1–3 where I can take full technical ownership — no layers, no handoffs, direct responsibility for what ships.

Since 24 years in the field I specialize in backbone, systems and applied security programming as well as the creation of clean domain-specific components and libraries.

Following the most recent and exciting C++ Standard features and paradigms, reading C++ documentation and papers and paying attention to detail has always paid off in order to produce reliable products that run for decades.

What I bring to your team

“Your C++ chops are incredible” — Founder & CEO, minimal.audio, Los Angeles

I take full technical ownership of your codebase and product suite — from bare metal to architecture, decisions to delivery. No layers, no handoffs.

“The longer Klaus runs the higher Klaus jumps” (a nod to Jazz Jackrabbit, the 1994 Epic MegaGames platformer) — the deeper I know your codebase, the more value I generate. I invest myself, not just my hours.

Work with me

The million-dollar question:

You stop worrying about the technical side. Permanently.

Will your product suite survive the next 30 years? Here is how I make sure it will be at the top of the market:

  1. Achieve compliance relevant to your industry [e.g. MISRA, AUTOSAR, …]
  2. Minimize development costs with maintainability
  3. Pass audit requests or audits in respect to security
  4. Minimize support costs with a perfected and integration-tested code base
